Morris Irby: I can remember one of the favorite things we’d do, I’d come out on campus on Sunday afternoon and I would lead a group of students, maybe 10 or 15, back out to my house in West Cookeville where my mom would fix a big meal or us. I was kind of like the pied piper. I’d have everybody, we’d be marching. Course you know, we didn’t have cars back then, so we’d walk about a mile from campus to home. But walking out to my mother’s for a Sunday cooked meal and let me tell you, that wasn’t something that was turned down at the time, a student away from home and getting a homecooked meal. Hey, that was uptown. So, though, I have a lot of fond memories on those, on those Sunday afternoons. We’d get together in that little house and oh, we’d be jumping.
