(Feb. 25, 2002) -Tennessee Tech University's Office of Minority Affairs is hosting their annual Soul Food Dinner banquet Thursday, Feb. 28, at 7 p.m., with special guests Blues Works (featuring Paul and Judy Luis-Watson). Blues Works is famous for its well-seasoned acoustic/ electric styles of blues. Paul and Judy Luis-Watson formed the group in 1991. Paul Watson is famous for his blues harp, vocal style and extraordinary song writing. Judy Luis-Watson is noted for her signature-style boogie piano. A third member, Akbar Sharriefs, is known for his acoustic guitar and vocal work. Touring extensively, Blues Works has appeared in concert at blues festivals, blues clubs, as well as various other college campuses. The dinner will consist of fried chicken, fried pork chops, cornbread and turnip greens, macaroni and cheese, mashed potatoes and gravy, corn, along with sweet potato pie and cobbler. The Soul Food Dinner, held in the Roaden University Center's Multipurpose Room, will wrap up this year's activities for Black History Month.
