Purple and Gold
Dublin Core
Title
Purple and Gold
Description
Around 1916, a Tech committee chose our school colors and the letter writer from the corresponding document that accompanied this scrapbook page was on that committee. The committee dismissed black and gold because of Vanderbilt and chose green and gold…until the last minute when they chose purple and gold. It is said that the purple was likened to the iron shrub that grew on campus.
